We are practicing Yoga to learn how to listen and observe;
to align optimally in every sense, every second,
with what is truly divine within us.
First, listen to your breath. As you read,
observe and listen to the quality, the rhythm.
Check again during your next interaction with another person.
Taking this time is essentially a choice to
focus on internal security
rather than battling everyone around us.
The practice of Yoga teaches us how we direct our attention.
Simply observe the contrasts:
your breath in a quiet forward bend;
your breath in a challenging standing pose like warrior three.
[similarly, during a pleasing conversation,
breath is usually long and easeful;
whereas when there is challenge or insecurity,
breath is shallow and labored]
Take time to regularly observe and
notice the variations in your patterns of breathing.
This focus is an opportunity to experiment,
to determine what rhythm and resonance is
helpful in the poses as well as our daily efforts.
It’s about spending time cultivating an inner correspondence
rather than basing every thought, word and action on others.
Again, always, our only aim is to choose to live
in ways that serve us and those around us.
We’re cultivating our ability to be completely aware
[not judgemental] of our thoughts, words, actions.
the definitive means by which to manifest our choices.
All the best for an abundant fall.
