Marjorie Nass worked for a decade in the corporate world before trading pantyhose and pumps for Prana and Be Present as a yoga teacher. On the mat in yoga class, Marjorie was able to experience herself for the first time through her body, rather than her mind and thoughts, and began to let go of the perfectionistic tendencies which seemed to rule her life. Through the practice of yoga, she found relief from a life long struggle with depression, and has been sharing her insights in classes, workshops and private sessions for over a decade. Marjorie specializes in yoga therapeutics, working with individuals experiencing all types of injuries and illnesses, and shares the profoundly nourishing and healing value of a precise, steady yoga practice. Ultimately Marjorie shares her insights with precision on the mat, empowering students to heal through the practice of yoga, so they may live in the world more fully.
After discovering Anusara® Yoga, Marjorie’s chronic neck and shoulder injuries improved and ultimately completely healed, transforming her practice and leading to her specialty in yoga therapeutics. Marjorie became a Certified Anusara Teacher in July 2008, and continues to deepen her studies with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, as well as many other gifted teachers in the community. Marjorie teaches yoga in New York City, and these private sessions, weekly classes and workshops emphasize yoga therapeutics. For all students, including those who experience injuries and illness in their lives, Anusara yoga’s Universal Principals of Alignment create space, stability and freedom in the body, leading to a profound state of healing. Marjorie is grateful for all the wonderful teachers and students in her life.
